Current Progress + Kal and Stormy

Happy (is that the word for it?) Tuesday! It’s been a while since I’ve posted an update, but I’ve been busy with what has been called the cutest baby of all time. Anyway, here’s a quick update on where everything is.

THE IMMORTAL WORDS

The book is finished! I recently printed a couple copies that included the added Blessing art, updated chapter/part headings (with names now!), and the map of Aria. I’m really happy with how it’s turned out. As of today, only two copies exist—the one on our coffee table and the one my buddy, Toby, has. I’m still hunting for the right agent for the book so we can get the book into the hands of all you eager readers. Don’t fret! You’ll be able to get yours soon.

THE SHADOW OF STARS

The novella I announced last year has been getting some slow work done on it, and I am loving the new characters. It will be a quick write and read once I find the time to bury myself in it for a few weeks. It will introduce a new part of the world with an all new roster of characters. It will NOT be a mainline entry for The Age of Gods, so you will not miss any important information if you skip it. But it will feature some fun Easter eggs and world-building for people to enjoy. You won’t want to miss it!

THE AGE OF GODS, BOOK TWO

The title is still under wraps, but I am obsessed with this book. I finished my revision of the chapter outline and moved/eliminated some parts that will undoubtedly make for a more exciting and compelling structure. I’m currently working on re-writing the existing chapters for Part One to better fit the changes I made to the end of The Immortal Words. Well, when I’m not getting distracted by fleshing out the history of the world and the events of the earlier Ages—our saga starts in the Seventh Age. I think I’m unconsciously moving slowly on the new pages while I wait for any potential changes that agents/publishers would want to make to Book One. I need to push that possibility to the back of my head and keep getting new pages out.

KAL AND STORMY

So… I’ve written a children’s book for my son! I’m currently waiting on the first copy to be delivered, but it was a lot of fun to write thinking of how much he will enjoy it. I was maaaaybe an above average artist back in high school, but digital art took over and passed me by. I have placeholder art for now, but if anyone wants to do about 24 pages of fun children’s art, let me know! I’d love a collab.

Not a lot of other new stuff to report on, but I’ll keep you updated as the new works reach milestones and The Immortal Words gets closer to release!

BONUS! Here’s some art for the main cast of characters of Book One to check out. Enjoy!

Have a great week!
-Justin
