The Shadow of Stars

Happy Tuesday!

While waiting for the blizzard to roll in, I figured I’d update you on what I’ve been working on. The Immortal Words is chugging along, and I look forward to discussing it with all of you when you finish it! Thank you, thank you, thank you again for supporting my work, and I hope you enjoy the world as much as I do. Before jumping back into the second book, I’ve decided to finish the novella I announced over a year and a half ago. I’m excited to announce that I reached the halfway mark today!

I wanted to take a moment to introduce you to this project. The novella, The Shadow of Stars, takes place immediately after the events of The Immortal Words on the southern continent of Cantatia. The story follows Herron, a young man caught stealing from a mysterious tinkerer. Their meeting is the catalyst for a grand adventure across the shadowy dunes, where Herron is tasked with transporting a mysterious parcel to a school at the base of a volcano at the center of Cantatia. Along the way, he meets strange friends, stone beasts, and must find ways to avoid the shifting mists. When they discover the contents of the parcel, it becomes a race against time—and a grumbling volcano—to ensure the package gets delivered to the proper hands.

The Shadow of Stars was conceived as a fun adventure book in the same universe as The Age of Gods, a light, optional read for those that want to explore the rest of the world. While it does not have our heroes (or villains) from the main story line, it does explore and elaborate on many of the concepts introduced in the first book. I know it will be an exciting journey and keep you eager to dive deeper and deeper into the world (and previous Ages!) in future novellas.
