The first draft for The Shadow of Stars is complete! The climactic chapter came out as a deluge of words, and I haven’t reread it yet, so it will likely need some major refining. But it is exciting! I’ll set that one aside and let it rest for a couple weeks before going through the first round of edits.

While the novella’s newly completed first draft takes a much deserved nap, the outlines for Book Two of The Age of Gods is getting some tinkering as I prepare to jump back in. Several completed chapters are getting the axe as characters journey into new adventures on different lands with new friends and foes alike. It’s never a favorite thing for an author to complete toss out nearly 100 pages, but it will be well worth it. Some of my favorite scenes may get recycled into different parts of the story, so it’s not goodbye, simply a temporary farewell.
