The Final draft is underway!

An update! It has been quite some time, but we are finally past the portion of my spreadsheet where my primary task was “WAIT”. Granted, I was tweaking outlines for the subsequent books and even playing with some new ideas for The Immortal Words, but I was primarily focused on waiting until I had enough feedback from beta readers to move forward with the final draft. Before continuing, let me say THANK YOU to those of you who have been reading the book and giving me the vital feedback necessary to ensure that everyone receives the best draft of The Immortal Words possible!

While the struggle to simply wait wore on, I scrapped and completely rewrote a couple of early chapters that struggled to shake the “Video Game”-itis that the first draft of Part One suffered from for so long. I also made the decision to remove the existing epilogue and push it to its own novella while shifting one of the final chapters to the new epilogue. I feel it is a much cleaner ending with more impactful final pages. I hope you will all agree with me when you finally get your hands on it!

With the help of Amanda and her editing notes and my own notes from my most recent read, the first five chapters have already reached their final draft form, putting me at roughly 8% of the way through it. These chapters now more effectively lay the groundwork for the journey that our protagonists embark on during The Immortal Words and give a handful of teasers for the rest of what’s to come in The Age of Gods. I’ll keep working hard to polish this draft and will start contacting agents in the coming month. Well, when I’m not elbow deep in diapers. Three days until the due date! If any delays pop up, it will be for the best reason of all—our son!

Much love and Happy Thanksgiving!
