A New Novella

Hello everyone! It has been too long since I’ve posted anything. Unfortunately, there has not been much to post about as I continue waiting for beta readers to get caught up in the story. I’m hoping to get some great feedback that will help me polish the manuscript and get it in the hands of an agent that is as passionate about it as I am!

In the meantime, I have been designing more art for the book. Well, the drafts of art—I’m no artist! That art includes redesigning the map of Aria that I had originally made to better fit some of the rewrites that the story has undergone, drawing sketches of characters, designing more of those mysterious runes, and fleshing out the descriptions of Gods, cities, and more! I’m hoping that these sketches and designs will help a much more skilled and talented artist bring my visions to life with their own unique flair.

As far as writing goes, I have decided that I have to be writing something during this waiting period. So, I have written the outline for a short novella that takes place on the southern continent of Cantatia set during the first and second book! I originally had no intentions of writing any novellas as the series was going to be enough of a task as it was, but I underestimated how much time I would be spend between drafts. The first draft for the second novel is nearly 30% complete with an outline that I am very excited to bring to life, but I can’t continue drafting it without knowing exactly where all the character arcs/main story are going to be at the end of the first book. I made sooooo many changes during the rewrite that I need to be cautious about writing too much and then cutting it for additional changes. So, like I mentioned, I will be writing a novella! This nine-chapter adventure will focus on a merchant traveling through dunes layered with dangerous shifting mists as he strikes out to deliver a secret parcel for a world-renowned tinkerer. I’m very excited to add these characters to The Age of Gods universe and you can expect that first draft to be completed soon!

Anyway, I will be heading to Phoenix to see some friends and will likely be spending the traveling time focusing on this new manuscript. Hopefully everyone has a great week!
